To employees

Dear caregivers,

Currently we are working in unprecedented times of uncertainty related to a global pandemic situation with COVID-19.

As all of you know from various sources today we are dealing with highly contagious corona type virus that potentially can cause serious illness in the most vulnerable population that we provide care for.

According to CDC chances of developing respiratory collapse and death are dramatically increased when a person is over 70 years old or have some comorbidities like high blood pressure or diabetes.

Collaboratively ICA, Corp created a list of guidelines to address various scenarios related to prevention, non-spread and emergency situations due to COVID-19 while continuing caregiving duties.

Caregivers that work live-in are advised to minimize all external contacts including grocery shopping, post office visits, neighbor visits and all related visits and contacts.

If you need any supplies please contact your clients’ family members or our office. You can email at contact@icahelps.com or use our hot line at 609-945-2375

Please make sure that you have gloves, masks and sanitizer on hand. If you are lacking any of that please call our office.

We cannot stress enough how important is proper handwashing, contact precautions and social distancing in times like this. Please do wash your hands no less than for 2 minutes after you contact patient or surfaces that might have been touched by patient.

Due to CDC guidelines every caregiver should create a working log of patients’ condition on a daily basis. It can be a simple table on a piece of paper were you should monitor patient’s signs and symptoms for Corona virus.

It should look approximately like this:

YOU WILL HAVE TO SUBMITT THESE LOGS TOGETHER WITH YOUR TIMESHEETS!!!!

If your patient presents with high fever and dry coughing please notify their physician and family members immediately. You have to know your patients emergency contacts. If you have difficulty obtaining them please notify our office.

If your patient is taken to the hospital and tested positive for corona virus please call the office.

If your patient is tested positive for Corona virus and is staying at home and you are the only available home care resource please call the office immediately.

If you work live in and you suspect that you contacted with a person who tested positive for Corona virus or you present with dry cough and fever please notify our office immediately. You can send text message as well. If you work live out, please stay home and call office for a substitute!!!

We understand that it is a new virus we are dealing with and everyone is protecting their own well -being to the best of their knowledge, but please understand that we are working in a health related field and certain things are required from us as we are health professionals. Just imagine the level of anxiety medical and nursing personnel has in hospitals that treat corona virus patients and thankfully being in a nursing field I haven’t heard a single case of a nurse refusing to see a patient. Let’s be strong in these difficult times!

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate and contact our office.

STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY!!!
